Scotiabank
Capital Markets – Mobile App
Background
Supporting the Managing Director of Capital Markets Technology at Scotiabank, I provided UX consulting for an internal desktop tool used by Sales and Structuring teams to manage RFQ (Request for Quote) intake and Structured Note pricing. From there I was brought in to lead the design of a complementary mobile solution that could address key usability and efficiency gaps.
Problem
The existing platform was built for desktop largely due to the complexity of the bank's structured products and pricing workflows. However, this slowed quote turnaround with Sales teams on the go relying on inefficient back-and-forth emailing with the Structuring team. The experience was fragmented, time-consuming, and poorly suited to fast-pace client interactions.
Objective
Design a mobile solution that streamlines the most essential RFQ intake and management workflows, and integrates seamlessly with the desktop platform—creating a centralized, intuitive experience for processing and tracking all requests.
My Role
Desktop: UX Consultant
Mobile: Product Designer, UX Writer
Impact
Managing Directors across Global Banking and Markets, and Global Equity Derivatives praised both the quality and speed of the UX work, urging leadership to secure funding to move the project forward. The PM and dev lead also emphasized that the clarity of communication and thought behind the designs set a high bar for future contributors.
NDA Disclaimer
Due to confidentiality agreements, I’m unable to share full visuals or documentation publicly. I'd be happy to discuss the work in more detail during an interview.
